This workshop is set to make sure you have an unforgettable adventure. The rare combination of spectacular northern lights and incredibly beautiful landscapes has made Lofoten a very popular destination with photographers.

From the moment you land in Norway every aspect of your trip is tailored to create the experience of a lifetime. You will have two professional guides, with who, you will be chasing the best light across the Nordic landscape.
We will be exploring the heart of Lofoten archipelago above the arctic circle. Our first stop is the picturesque island of Hamnøy in Moskenes, where we will stay  for 2 nights.

From here we will explore Hamnøy, Sakrisøy, Reine and Å. You will be living in the postcard that is the Lofoten Islands. After the nights in Hamnøy, we will travel to Solsiden Rorbuer. This gives us easy access to  all the areas that we will photograph such as Uttakleiv, Haukland, Unstad, Nusfjord, Skagsanden, Henningsvaer, Flakstad and Ramberg. We will be staying in the picturesque cottages at Solsiden Brygger with traditional exteriors and modern interiors surrounded by spectacular scenery of mountains and ocean. This workshop also incoporates the unique opportunity to photograph sea eagles. These majestic birds of prey with wingspans upto 8ft are an absolute treat to photograph. This is a protected species in Norway and we will be photographing them from a boat. From the ocean one can also get a fresh perspective to photograph the surrounding landscape.

We do not lend out any gear (camera or clothing), so you need to bring this yourself.
You need your personal travel and health insurances in order.
You need to get yourself to Evenes airport (EVE) and any hotel nights or similar related to that you need to cover yourself.
Any tips, souvenirs or snacks is on you.

If you are unsure whether or not something is included or not, do not hesitate to contact us (contact form below).

What do I bring with me?

Since we will spend a lot of time outside it is important that you bring appropriate winter clothing. 3 layers usually does the trick, but you might get away with 2 layers depending on the temperature.
When we are on the go we usually go with merino wool as the inner layer and insulated pants and jackets, gloves and a cap to keep our ears warm. Your shoes should be winter proof as well.
Temperatures will likely be between plus 5 and minus 10 celsius (42F and 14F).
It is highly recommended to bring micro spikes for your foot wear, as it is very likely it will be icy at some locations.

As for camera gear, we recommend a fast ultra-wide angle lens for landscape and auroras. If this is something you do not have in your arsenal of lenses, something like a 14mm (full frame equivalent) f2.8 does the trick for the northern lights as well as daytime landscapes.
Since we will spend time in different surroundings we are covered from 14mm to 400mm.
Given the ratio of instructors to clients, you can rest assured there is plenty of time for individual instruction and advice both in the field and in post processing. Your images and learning are our top priority.
Bring a sturdy tripod! We cannot stress this enough. It is recommended to have spikes on that tripod, but not mandatory. It is winter, ice and likely windy. A sturdy tripod will be your friend.

You are welcome to bring your drone. You are responsible to follow the national laws related to flying. Info found here

Adapters, converters, chargers etc. You are likely using a different power connector where you come from.

Do bring your laptop with the latest Lightroom and Photoshop installed if you wanna follow along when we do class room sessions.
